Photo Blog: The Doors of India

Doors, in my eyes, have always had an aura of mystery around themselves! The thrill of stepping into the unknown not knowing what lies beyond, or sometimes an inward journey, a known journey towards our comfort zone, our homes, and at times journeys, away from home, they have always had a story to tell!

Through the roads and alleys of the various Indian states I have been to, I felt maybe no other country in the world  holds so much history, so much mystery as much as the doors of India do. Through this series I bring them to you. I will keep adding more to this series.

The next time you see a door, you just don’t open it but open it with a curiosity that probably there’s an untold story behind it that nobody stopped by to listen.

Rajasthan is filled with beautiful doors, this one is captured inside the popular Chokhi Dhani, Jaipur
This door stood still in a corner holding mysteries of a few hundred years
And then there were doors with burst of colors too

Signing off with my all time favorite quote about doors, that evokes the perfect mystery every door of the world holds

“If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

      1. Yeah, I’m glad to hear this. Our “Thursday Doors” host is (except for the previous three weeks when he was on holidays) Norm Frampton. This is his last door post:

As I said on my blog, he posts his doors with the link-gathering frog every Thursday and the challenge is open until Saturday noon (his East-coast time). You still have some hours for this week. 🙂
